Obituary

FLORENCE J. HOOVER EDMISTON, 89

 Youngstown -- Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mahoning United Methodist Church for Mrs. Florence J. Hoover Edmiston, 89, of 4951 S.W. 29th Way, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Wesley Avenue, Youngstown, who died Dec. 7 at the home of a daughter in Florida.
 Mrs. Edmiston was born Jan. 27, 1906, in Youngstown, a daughter of James O. and Nora Crum Hoover, lived in Youngstown for 39 years and moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1989.  She was a graduate of Fitch High School and Kent State University and had been a teacher in the Austintown Schools for 10 years.
 A 29-year member of the church, she taught Sunday school there and was a youth counselor.  She was a member of the Austintown Retired Teachers Club and Argus Lodge Widows and was a volunteer Gray Lady for the Red Cross at Southside Hospital for 18 years.
 Her husband, Ernest L., whom she married in 1930, died in 1975. 
 She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Linda Wilson, with whom she made her home; a son, James A. of Davie, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
 There are no calling hours.
