In 1870 he was living with his Bury grandparents, and in 1900 with aunt & uncle, Josiah & Caroline (Bury)Strouse. In 1930 his mother in law was living with them. In 1940 he was living with his daughter, Florence, and family. In 1910 he was a carpenter; 1930, a carpenter in house building; and at time of death, a retired carpenter. In 1910, 1930 and 1952 he was living in Youngstown, and in 1916, 1930 in Austintown. Obituary JAMES O. HOOVER -- James O. Hoover, 89, or 39 Wesley Ave., died of a heart ailment at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at his residence. Mr. Hoover was born Nov. 24, 1866 in Cornersburg, a son of John and Levina Bury Hoover. He was a retired carpenter and helped build many of the fine homes in Youngstown. He was a member of the Austintown Evangelical Reformed Church. His wife, the former Nora Crumm whom he married in 1905, died many years ago. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Edmiston with whom he made his home; three sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Trout and Mrs. William Welsh, both of Youngstown, and Mrs. Cora Wood in California; a brother Roy; two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Williams Funeral Home in Canfield where friends may call Thursday evening. Source: Youngstown Vindicator, Monday, July 9, 1956.
