    Ferne Jones, 95, of Stuart, Iowa passed away August 31, 2008 at he Community Care Center - Evergreens in Stuart. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday September 3, 2008 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home - Stuart. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with burial following in Morrisburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Ferne's name to the Stuart Rescue Unit in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, 123 NE Second Street, Stuart Iowa 50250 (515) 523-1200. Ferne was born Marsh 26, 1913 in Morrisburg, Iowa to the late Ivan Edwin and Alice Madeline Wilson McLuen. She was a life long resident of the Stuart community and graduated from Stuart High School in 1931. Ferne was united in marriage to Harry Wayne Jones on August 29, 1932 in Adel, Iowa and together they made their home in Stuart. Ferne worked at Ed Delaney Hardware in Stuart before being employed at the Parker Brothers Games in Des Moines before retiring in 1978. Ferne enjoyed many things throughout her life some including quilting, fishing, all sports especially baseball, camping, baking and spending quality time with her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Percy McLuen and two sisters, Juanita Thompson and Helen Keesey. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews and a host of friends all of whom will miss her greatly.
