Obit from funeral program: OBITUARY OF JUANITA THOMPSON Dorothy Juanita, daughter of Edwin and Alice M. (Wilson) McLuen, was born in Stuart, Iowa on May 30, 1918 and passed away March 9, 1990 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She attended country school near Dale City and graduated from Stuart High School. On November 19, 1936 she was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Thompson in Bethany, Missouri. Four sons and two daughters blessed this union. Juanita's life was spent as a homemaker, raising her six children. Later she was employed at Bishop's Cafeteria and Sears Department Store, retiring from there in 1978. Besides her membership in the First Congregational Church where she enjoyed the Secret Sister group, she also had time and enjoyed ceramics, bowling and Bingo. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and one grandson. Surviving are her children: four sons, Lyle of Albany, Missouri, Kenneth Jr. of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Charles of Laguna Beach, California, and Dean of Payson, Illinois; two daughters, Madeline Thompson of Waukee and Jean Paullin of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
