About the time of his marriage he moved from Plaistow, N.H., to Sutton, Mass., where he was engaged in business as a tanner. In 1751-3 he bought land in Killingly County and removed thither soon after. The last six of his children were born there. He was a prominent member of the South Killingly Church, of which he was chosen a ruling elder in 1783. He probably officiated as a clergyman there, and certainly did at Hillsborough, N.H., where he had bought a large tract of land and settled in 1785. He is spoken of as Captain Little, and appears to have had a handsome estate for those times. In his will, dated 13 March, 1787, and written by himself, he makes provisions for his wife, and bequests to all children, except Hannah and Samuel who are supposed to have died young. It was proved 20 Feb., 1798.
