3 Apr 1755: Inventory of real estate and widows thirds set off to "Easter the widow of the deces'd Samuel Morse for her dower". Assented to by Benj'n Lee attorney for said widow, Samuel Morss, Jeduthun Morse, Solomon Bush, Submit bush, Rachel Morss, Samuel Sherman.
18 Oct 1768: Commission to appraise and distribute real estate ... of Samuel Morse late of marlborough ... which was set off to his widow (now Dece'd)".
The use of Benjamin Lee as an attorney to represent her in the probate of Samuel Morse circumstantially suggests that the Esther Baker who married Samuel Morse is the widow of Joseph Baker, even though no death record or probate for Joseph is found to confirm her availability as this person.
