"… There are strong genealogical reasons for believing that John's wife Esther (whose name appears but once, in 1694) was daughter of Jehu and Esther (Ward?) (Boosey) Burr, and half-sister of Major and Judge Peter Burr, M.A. (Harvard College, 1690). The will of Jehu Burr, dated 11 Jan 1689 [1689/90] states that his daughter Esther had received her portion, signifying that she was then married."
