Facts and Events
Enoch Arden Dugger was born 23 Feb 1843 in Bledsoe, White County, Tennessee. His father was Henry Dugger and his mother was Sarah Green. He married Elizabeth Caroline Ball about 1862 in Cumberland County, Tennessee. During the Civil War his father Henry and he and his brothers went to fight in the war. My grandmother Blanche Dugger Jones remembers both Confederate and Union uniforms stored in the attic of the house. His father Henry and his brother Wiley both died during the war. After the war the family moved from Tennessee to Illinois, then to Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas and finally Oklahoma. Enoch died in Neodesha, Kansas on 12 May 1922 and was buried in Oklahoma. The cemetery was moved because the government was creating a lake. The lake is Grand Lake O' The Cherokees which was created in 1940 with GRDA's completion of Pensacola Dam. He now rests beside Elizabeth in Rolston Cemetery (Monkey Island), Bernice, Delaware County, Oklahoma. His children include Martha A. Dugger, William Henry Hardin Dugger, John W. Dugger, Sarah Elvira Dugger, Mary E. Dugger, Robert E. Dugger, Alice J. Dugger, Ida J. Dugger and Emily E. Dugger. References
