Emily Hitchcock, 87, resident of the Menlo community and rural school teacher for many years, passed away Friday, June 26, at the Adair County Memorial Hospital. Emily had spent the past year at the Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle. Survivors are a nephew, Homer Hitchcock and family of Mason City and three other nephews, sons of her brother, Clyde.

Services were conducted from the Link Funeral Home in Stuart Sunday, June 28, with Rev. Wayne Hoehns of Casey Officiating. Mrs. O.V. Butler was organist with Mrs. Glenn Stevenson and Mrs. Harper Stringer vocalists.

Mrs. George Stemm and Mrs. Mervyn Partlow were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Pallbearers were George Stemm, Donald Stemm, Herb Cunningham, Mervyn Partlow, Edmund Groomes, Dale Harlan. Interment was in the Menlo cemetery.
