Emile Jean Courrege - Biographical Notes

Notes written by Cheryl Courrege Burguieres, August 1972:

"Emile Jean Courrege, my father and second youngest child of Jean Courrege and Marie Rodrigue. He was born April 26, 1902 in New Iberia and married my mother, Irene Marie LeBlanc of Jeanerette, January 20, 1940. In their marriage, they had four children: John Edward, born Oct. 29, 1940; Cheryl Ann born Aug. 23, 1944; Mary Susan, born Oct. 5, 1949; and Irene Catherine, born Aug 23, 1944.

A heart attack brought an untimely death to him on December 22, 1961, age 59. He was one of eleven children from the prolific union of Jean Courrege and Marie Rodrigue."
