Ellen M. Gribble

COSHOCTON: Ellen M. Gribble, 83, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Coshocton Co. Memorial Hospital.

She was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio, on July 9, 1927, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Crena) Passoni. Ellen graduated in 1945 from New Philadelphia High School, and was employed with the Coshocton City School System for over 25 years, where she served as the secretary in the Superintendent's office. Ellen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coshocton, Ohio.

On July 21, 1947, she married James F. Gribble, who survives; also surviving are her two daughters, Mary Ellen (Larry) Taylor, of Coshocton, Pamela Ann Wheeler of Coshocton; four grandchildren, James Wheeler, Rick (Toyia) Wheeler ll, Matthew (Tricia) Taylor, Megan (Mike) Hemming; and seven great granchildren, Alex Wheeler, Austin Wheeler, Ayden Wheeler, Bella Wheeler, Gianna Taylor, Jacob Taylor, and Payton Hemming; and several nieces and nephews.

Ellen was preceded in death by two brothers, and three sisters.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coshocton, Ohio, with Father William Hritsko officiating. The family will greet friends and neighbors at Given-Dawson Funeral Home, 186 Park Ave., Coshocton, Ohio, on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m., where a Christian Wake service will be held at 7:45 p.m. After the funeral mass cremation will take place and a private family burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia, Ohio, at a later date.
