After the death of her husband, Ella spent some time at the Winabago Indian Mission until she was called home due to the death of her father. She lived with and cared for her mother until her death. While her mother was still in good health, Ella did practical nursing. No children were born to this union. Ella passed away June 11, 1982, at age of 92. Burial at Allendale.
