  4.   Many sources identify the wife of Benjamin Southworth as Elizabeth, the daughter of Walter Jr. However, the article in TAG, p. 31:203, noting that no son Walter is named in Walter Sr.'s will, reinvestigated the records of Little Compton and concluded all records of the family of Walter2 were inserted after the fact by a town clerk based on "whatever he thought he know about the families, without indicating that these were his additions, and not part of the original records", and should be eliminated. This includes a daughter Elizabeth b. 1678. Combined with the will of Benjamin Woodworth of Lebanon (see Source:O'Neill, Donna. My American Family, p. 25), which bequeaths to "ye children of Elezebeth Southard Deced", and it becomes clear that it was Benjamin's daughter that married Benjamin Southworth, and not the daughter of the mythical Walter, Jr..
