Never married and in her later years lived with her sister, Willmina, a nurse in Niagara Falls, N.Y. Linnie was born with the handicap of spinabifida, the failure of the spine to close, leaving the spinal cord vulnerable to injury. She always limped and in her father's pioneer homestead always slept on the ground floor. She had a twinking sense of humour, was special to her niece (Lois Reynolds Kerr) for her skill in making large fat ginger cookies. Lois spent many summer holidays on the farm and will never forget those ginger cookies.
