Facts and Events
Name Elizabeth Price
Gender Female
Birth? Apr 1829 Kentucky
Marriage 3 Feb 1848 Lawrence County, Kentuckyto Francis Smith
Marriage 7 Jun 1859 Lawrence County, Kentuckyto John Abraham Mead
Death? Bet 1910 and 1920 Lawrence County, Kentucky

Probably about a year after Frank Smith died, Elizabeth married a much younger Abraham Mead and moved to a farm near Catlettsburg in Boyd Co., Kentucky. Three of her children with Frank went with her: John, Mahala, and Ballard. The fourth child, James Thomas, went to live with his widowed grandmother Katherine Price. The three children who went with Abraham Mead are listed on 1860 and 1870 census reports with the surname of Mead which is why it is so hard to find them. Abraham Mead and Elizabeth moved back to Lawrence County by 1870. Abraham died sometime between 1880 and 1900 because Elizabeth was widowed by then and living with son Ballard Smith. In 1910 she says that she gave birth to 10 children, but that only 2 were still alive (which would be John and Ballard Smith). I know of the five Smith children listed and of three children with Abraham Mead, which leaves two unknown children. These could have been Abraham's of course, but there's also a big gap (1847 to 1852) between the births of John Smith and Mahala Smith. So she and Frank could have had one or two children in that gap who died at a very young age.
