    The abstract of her probate indicates that she made her will 30 November 1748 and that it was proved 24 Dec 1748. Therefore the date of death indicated on her gravestone, 1 November 1738, cannot be correct. Almost certainly erroneous information was given to the individual who cut the gravestone.

    Marsh, Elizabeth, Hartford. Will dated 30 November, 1748: I, Elizabeth Marsh of Hartford, widow and relict of John Marsh, late of sd. Hartford, do make this my last will and testament: I give to my daughter Elizabeth Cook and to her heirs, to be at her and their own dispose forever, all my wearing apparrel of what sort and denomination soever, all my cloth, wool, yarn, flax, and all my bedding and the furniture belonging thereto, as also my pewter, brass, iron and the whole of my household goods and linens, and one cow, and £20 in bills of publick credit of the old tenor, to be paid her by my executor hereafter named. I give to my son John Marsh and his heirs £100 in old tenor bills of credit. And further, my will is that my son Hezekiah Marsh shall have the lands I lately bought of John Marsh and Daniel Marsh, he paying for it the just value thereof to my executor or to the rest of my children. And what remains of my estate, whether real or personal, after the before-mentioned legacies are paid, I give to be equally divided to my sons, Ebenezer Marsh, William Marsh, Isaac Marsh, George Marsh, John Marsh, Timothy Marsh and Hezekiah Marsh, and to their heirs forever. I constitute my son Timothy Marsh to be my executor.
