Information on Elizabeth Merry

Note: some estimates list the birthdate of Elizabeth Merry as abt. 1696, but based upon records listing Thomas Merry's children as "eldest child 9 yrs & youngest 15 months, 5 children" in abt. 1718, she was probably born closer to 1708 or 1709, perhaps she was the eldest child listed, as she married in 1725.

Peter Montague married Elizabeth Merry, daughter of Thomas Merry of Denbigh Parish, Warwick County. On Feb. 24 1695/6 Peter Montague relinquished title to land in Warwick near Kerby's Pine deeded to him by his father-in-law Thomas Merry, and he and his wife Elizabeth gave power of attorney to 'our brother-in-law' William Bressie to acknowledge the relinqueshment.
