Facts and Events
Name Elizabeth Anna Hager
Gender Female
Birth? Aug 1836 Logan County, (West) Virginia
Death? Aft 1910 Washington Dist., Kanawha County, West Virginia

Married Evermont Bias before 1853 in Boone County. Evermont's father was one of the first settlers on the Virginia side of the Big Sandy River in 1802. Evermont and two of his brothers enlisted and fought with the 187 Boone Militia, Capt. Spurlocks "A" Co. and with the 7th WV Cavalry. Evermont was also active helping Robert and Alfred Allen Hager recruit for Union militias. Evermont's brother William was the first Sheriff of Boone County after West Virginia became a state. He was succeeded by Evermont, who got into difficulties over the division of taxes between Boone County and Lincoln County, which was formed in 1867 and took part of its area from Boone. This caused a great deal of trouble for his bondsmen, which included Robert Hager and probably Alfred Allen as well.
