In the policy amendment to Alec Henderson's Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. Policy #144,878, made at Urbana, Ill., May 14/18, 1900, he states mother's age at death was 39, and she died of "internal abscess formed after childbirth."

FHL British film 993410 >From Barry, register of births, 1838: "Thomas Davidson, Barry, and his wife Mary Johnstone had a daughter born on the Seventh day of July and baptized on the First day of August by the name of Elizabeth."

From Edinburgh Register of Deaths:

She died "3h. on PM" at "No. 31 Gillespie Crescent," age 39, of "chronic pelvic abscess, 6 months"

Informant signature was F. H. Machugh, nephew, most likely son of Robert's sister Janet.
