Mrs. Elizabeth Clatworthy of Harmon Twp. died at her home very suddenly on Saturday night at 10 o'clock of heart failure. She was ill only a few moments. The deceased was 63 years of age. She was born in Devonshire England and married Rev. Wm. H. Clatworthy while still in England. They moved to this country 32 years ago and have lived in Harmon Twp. for the last 23 years. Nine children were born to them, two dying in infancy. The seven who survive with their father to mourn the death are W. H. Clatworthy, Jr. of Evanston, Ill. Mrs. Mary Woodburn of Sterling, Ill., Mrs. Emily Hill, Harmon, Mrs. Carrie Landon, Jerseyville, Ill., Miss Rose Clatworthy and Alfred B. Clatworthy, Harmon, Ernest G. Clatworthy, who is in a Chicago hospital where he submitted to an operation last week. Mrs. Clatworthy was a good Christian woman, a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. She was a kind mother and wife and loved by all who knew her. Her sudden death came as a severe shock to the numerous relatives and friend and neighbors. The stricken family has the sincere sympathy of all in their loss. Services at church were conducted by Rev. W. W. Diehl, pastor and an old friend of the family, and Rev. J. G. Brooks in Dixon. Ernest Clatworthy upon whom an operation was recently performed in a Chicago hospital was able to attend the funeral though he had to be carried from the carriage to the church. Interment took place in Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, Illinois.
