My Note: The above burial entry: "1729. Aug. 25. Wm. Hampton, Rector, aged 61. Married 41 years." is much more likely to refer to Elizabeth, wife of said William Hampton the rector of Worth, who is he of the "1745. May. 17." burial entry. Someone who died in 1729 at age 61 and was married 41 years would have been born abt. 1668 and married in 1688. Both of these dates would fit Elizabeth Hampton née Cary, who was born in abt. 1669 and married William Hampton on 24 October, 1688. Furthermore this may be confirmed by the burial records as published in the National Burial Index for England & Wales. See next source.S5
There is also a 'Family Tree' posted on Ancestry, which shows a birth for Elizabeth Cary on 17 June, 1669 in Aston Rowant, Oxfordshire; as well as her death on 24 August, 1729 aged 60 and burial in "Worth Church porch with her husband." No sources are provided for these entries. Yet they would fit the equivalent events as detailed on this page. —R.C.A. (8 Oct. 2013)
