Elizabeth Bonafield Conley was nicknamed "Betsy." She attended the Methodist Episcopal Church with her husband and son, Amos, in 1851. She officially became a member on 9/14/1879. (PC Methodist Church records) She died of pneumonia and is buried in the Campground Cemetery, near Tunnelton, WV. According to John Amos Conley, Elizabeth and John were buried without a tombstone, and their niece, Julia Bonafield, a renowned missionary, assumed the responsibility of placing a marker on their grave.

Elizabeth and John lived adjacent to her brother, Thornton J. Bonafield. (Census 1850) Elizabeth named her son, Thornton, after her older brother. (Dorothy Bonafield Snyder)
