    Will of "Elisha Hyde of Newton ...yeoman", dated 22 Sep 1835, disallowed 20 Feb 1838 due to objections, proved on appeal "third Tuesday of October, 1838", names daughter Charlotte the wife of William Palmer; Maria Adams, the only Child of my late daughter Hannah; son Elias [and at his decease to his children... "provided that the Mother, if she survives her husband, shall not receive any part"]; son Michael; sons Elisha and Michael to be executors.
    20 Feb 1838: Elisha Hyde and Michael Hyde declined to act as executors and request Samuel Stone as executor. Since will was disallowed, Samuel Stone of Newton is appointed administrator. Ruling appealed 1 Mar 1838 by Elisha Hyde on grounds will should have been approved. 1 May 1838: Bond of Samuel Stone as special administrator while appeal is pending.
    3 May 1838: Inventory of Elisha Hyde late of Newton yeoman dec'd filed.
    8 Jan 1839: Bond of Samuel Stone as executor with will annexed.
    21 May 1839: Accounting approved, with signed assent of heirs M. S. Hyde, William Palmer, Charlotte H. Palmer, Elisha Hyde.
