"In the New York City directory for 1881 Edward O. Jackson is listed as a notary at 57 Broadway. In the 1885 Brooklyn City Directory he is listed as a lawyer with an office at 365 Flatbush Avenue and a house at 35a Prospect Place. His mother, Mary L., widow of George, is listed as living at the same address. Edward is not listed in the 1886, 1887 and 1898-99 directories but reappears in the 1900-01 Brooklyn City directory as a real estate broker on East New York Avenue at the corner of Saratoga Avenue. His home address is Amboy at the corner of Sutter. His entry is the same for 1901-02.

"According to death certificate # 6295 of the Department of Health of New York, Edward died of heart failure at 863 Jefferson Ave, Brookly, NY brought on by diabetes and exhaustion following an abscess of the thigh of unknown origin on 25 Feb 1919. He was married, was born on 12 Nov 1856 to Mary L. Anthony and Edward Jackson and was in the real estate business. He was born in Brooklyn while his father was born on Long Island and his mother in New York.

"A death notice in the New York Times of 27 Feb 1919 (p.13) reports that Edward had been in the real estate business and active in Republican politics. He died at his home at 863 Jefferson Avenue, Brooklyn, NY."
