Houchins, Edward - entered service 1778 in Goochland County, Virginia, where born 2/29/1760, son of Francis & joice; moved 1821 to Mercer County, Kentucky, where granted Pension in 1832; also granted Pension by Virginia for disability from wounds at Battle of Camden; died 4/14/1846; married 10/27/1785 Nancy, daughter of James & Mary Clements, Goochland County, Virginia; widow born 3/13/1766 in Virginia; widow granted Pension 1847 in Mercer County, Kentucky; children's births: James C. 9/8/1786, Abner 8/4/1790, Mary O 6/7/1793, Edward 12/28/1795, Elizabeth 2/11/1798, Agnes O. 6/21/1800, Thomas I/J 7/28/1803 & Jesse F. 5/28/1806; daughter Agnes O. Terhune resided 1847 in Mercer County, Kentucky; query letter in file 1926 from descendant Condit B. Van Arsdall (brother of R. S. Van Arsdall), both of Harrodsburg, Kentucky. F-W11318, R1334.

    of the ARW..was badly wounded at the battle of Camden lay on the ground until
    after the battle was over and then made my escape...I lived in Virginia until
    1821 when I removed ot Mercer Co., Ky. where I now live.
