Edna Edsall


Edna Edsall, 83, of Greenfield, formerly of Fontanelle, died Sept. 22, 2010, at her home in Greenfield.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at Steen Funeral Home, 525 Maple St., Fontanelle. The Rev. Steven Broers will officiate. Burial will be in Fontanelle Cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 5 p.m. Sunday with family present 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Edna Edsall memorial fund.

Edna Edsall, daughter of Lola Francis (Keating) and Henry Jacob Wessel, was born March 3, 1927, in Adair County.

On April 14, 1947, Edna married Richard Edsall in Guthrie Center.

They farmed all their married life west of Fontanelle.

Edna is survived by her husband Richard Edsall of Greenfield; sons, Loren (wife Connie) Edsall of Creston and Lyle (wife Carolyn) Edsall of Fontanelle; brother Albert Wessel of Greenfield; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruby Coleman, Wilma Rodenbaugh and Mary Valentine and brothers, Warren, Clair and Loyd Wessel. Edna Edsall, 83, of Greenfield (formerly of Fontanelle) died on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at her home in Greenfield. Open Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 26, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle. Family Visitation will be Sunday, Sept 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle. Funeral Services will be held Monday, Sept. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle with burial in the Fontanelle Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle.
