However in 1865 80 Acres of land in Franklin County KS south of Peoria was granted to Ebenezer Wilson as his allotment from a treaty with the Ottawa Indians. Since Peoria is where Ebenezer Wilson enlisted in the 14th Kansas Cavalry it is possible that this Ebenezer Wilson was a Native American and not the son born in Michigan to Ebenezer Wilson Jr. Another possibility is that the first wife of Ebenezer Wilson Jr was an Ottawa Indian as this tribe was indigenous to the area around Lake Huron.
