Obituary: July 11, 1988 "Clovis News Journal" DOROTHY DEAN THOMPSON Services for Dorothy Dean Thompson, 66, of Clovis will be held on Tues. at 3:30 in the afternoon at Steed-Todd Chapel. The Rev. Jesse Shaver will officiate. Buriel will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Steed-Todd Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Thompson died on Sunday July 10, 1988 at Clovis High Plains Hospital. She was born on Oct. 2, 1921, in Verona, MS. She was a lifelong resident of Clovis. She was employed by the City from 1953 to 1983 and served as City Clerk and in various other city jobs. She was a member of Prince St. Baptist Church and the Business and Professional Women.

She married Loy E. Thompson July 17, 1941 in Portales. Survivors include her husband, Loy E. at the home, one son, Scottie, Savannah, MO, one daughter, Annette James, Lubbock, TX, her mother, Emerald King, Rio Linda, CA, one brother, John W. Rose, Clarksburg, CA and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Rose.

Casket bearers will be Darrell Bailey, Raymond Baird, Bob Thompson, Danny Thompson, Jamie Cooper and Truett Hardage. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Casket will be closed at the services and friends may call at the Funeral Home.

The family will be at 1405 Hillcrest. The casket will be closed during the service. Friends may call at the Funeral Home.
