    NOTE: The two footnotes on Ephraim's and Anna's deaths are accidentally switched in the book - JB.

    There is no note to support Ephraim's estimated birth year. I have chosen to place him earlier in the family, assuming that he was born in the early days of Chelmsford, when the birth was less likely to have been recorded than later. If he was born about 1654, he would have been about a decade older than each of his wives, which is not unreasonable.
