    S1 Donald G. Mirk
    Served in the U.S.Navy during WW2 of 1941-45. He died in Carson City NV in Nov. 2000 at the age of 79.

    MINDEN - Donald G. Mirk, 79, died Tuesday at his Minden home. He was born May 30, 1921, in Oakland, Calif., to George and Jeanne Poole Mirk. Mr. Mirk served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was a communications consultant for General Telephone. He was a member of the Masonic Covina Lodge and came to Minden seven years ago from Irvine, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife Alta Mirk, son Richard Mirk and daughter Janice LaPorte, all of Minden; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A graveside service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City. Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
