David Hinkle, 62, of West Terre Haute died at 4:38 p.m.Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, in Union Hospital, from injuriessustained in an automobile accident on Nov. 12, 2001, inDennison, Ill. He was retired from Laborers International UnionLocal 204, of which he was still a member and before his deathwas a truck driver. He was born March 27, 1939, in Terre Hauteto Mack Hinkle and Frances Hinkle. His wife, Virginia Ann Snow Hinkle, whom he married March 12, 1963, in Terre Haute, died Jan. 22, 2000. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law,Ginger and Brad McKillop of Marshall, Ill., and Terrie and Roger Franklin of Terre Haute; two sons, Donald Hinkle of Terre Haute and Mack Hinkle and his wife Heather of Dennison; one sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Charles Dickerson of West Terre Haute; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Dianne Hinkle of Georgia; eight grandchildren, Steven McKillop, JessicaMcKillop, Dalton Hinkle, Harley Johnston, Garrett Hinkle, Bryan Hinkle, Cody Hinkle and Shelby Hinkle. He also was preceded in death by his parents. He served in the Marine Corps from 1958 to1962 and in the Army from 1962 to 1964, having served during the Korean War, Vietnam War and in Panama. Services are 7:30 p.m.Tuesday in Fitzpatrick-Pearce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chris Wilbur officiating, and with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6574. Cremation will follow with interment of the ashes at a later date in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is 3p.m. until services Tuesday. |
