Dennis Henderson went in for heart surgery on September 30th. After a week in the ICU he lost his battle on Sunday October 9th at the age of 78.
Dennis was a classy, hard-working, well-respected meat-man and a great person & friend outside of work. He had an uncompromising love for the industry and a deep affection for the people he worked with.
Dennis was a UCLA grad who started his career with Oscar Mayer & Company back in 1966 (this past September was his 50th year in the industry). During his time with Oscar Mayer he had the opportunity to live the Hawaiian lifestyle on the beaches of Oahu where he frequently sailed his Hobie Cat sailboat. After returning state side Dennis moved up the ranks with Oscar Mayer and then moved over to the poultry side of the business with Foster Farms.
After nearly 20 years on the manufacturer side Dennis formed his own food brokerage, Henderson Pacific Co. in 1984. Dennis would eventually sell his company and finished his career with Premier Sales Solutions.
Dennis was a one in a million guy and had the respect from his peers that we all strive to have. He will be very sadly missed.
Dennis is survived by his wife Elaine four children (Pam, Donald, David & Krickette) and nine grandchildren (Ryan & wife Ashley, Brad, Jillian, Jack, Marikate, Delaney, Karly, Zachary & Nathan).
His family is having a Celebration of Life on Saturday October 22nd at 3:00p.m. at the Palm Valley Country Club in Palm Springs.
