Sherebiah Butt, of Connecticut. Daughter of John Dyer Butts and Elizabeth Chapman, his wife. Granddaughter of Capt. David Butts and Anna Dyer, his wife. Gr. - granddaughter of Sherebiah Butts and Deborah Knight, his wife. Gr. - Gr. - granddaughter of Josiah Butt and Elizabeth Williams, his wife. Josiah Butt, although an old man, served in the militia, as did his seven sons, and ten grandsons. Sherebiah Butt commanded a company from Canterbury at the Lexington Alarm. He was in the Battle of Bunker Hill, and turned out at other alarms during the war. He was born at Canterbury, 1733, and died there, 1807. Also No. 4164.

Asa Bacon's company, Col. John Tyler's Connecticut regiment. He was born and died in Canterbury, Conn.
