probably came to America around 1690 David is probably associated with Bristol Township which was incorporated into the City of Philadelphia following the passage of the Act of Consolidation of 1854 David is a Welsh Quaker. David settled in Bristol Township, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania where he lived the rest of his life. He was a "miller" by trade. His religious fellowship was with the Society of Friends (Quakers).

David was a member of the Provincial assembly in 1728, 1729

1730 - will shows David Potts was a yeoman; died 13 Nov 1730/1; Children: Thomas, John, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Stephen, Mary, Rebecca, Daniel, Nathan, Ezekiel; Grandchildren: Children of son Daniel; Exec: Ezekiel Potts.

The Pennsylvania Gazette of 19 Nov 1730 contains the notice of his death, in which is stated that: Monday last Mr David Potts died one of the members of assembly for this county.....
