  4. Source:Stearns, Ezra S. History of Ashburnham Massachusetts from the Grant of Dorchester Canada to the Present Time, 1734-1886 with a Genealogical Register, p. 811, says that David m. (2) 6 Feb 1732-33 Jemima Brigham. This is questionable. Having young children, one would have thought if David was going to remarry, he would have needed to have done so sooner than 8 years after his wife died. There is no mention of a widow or wife in David's will. His own son David b. 1705 is born early enough to be well into his marrying years in 1730, and is clearly closer in age to Jemima than the father is (b. Marlborough 1712 to David and Mary Brigham, see Marborough VRs, p. 40, and Source:Brigham, Emma Elisabeth. History of the Brigham Family, often called Vol. 2, on p. 40). Jemima is not named in her father's will so had died by 1748, if not earlier, leaving no heirs (there is some confusion in some sources about Jemima marrying Edward Newton, who is named son-in-law in David Brigham's will, but son-in-law was used for him because he was a son of David's second wife). A David Maynard m. Westborough 1737 Anne Oakes and they had a son Solomon in 1739. This is probably the same David that married Jemima (e.g., neither marriage record called David Jr., and 34 is somewhat late in life for a first marriage, suggesting this person had an earlier marriage, i.e., to Jemima). And clearly this is the son in this marriage to Anne, since no Solomon is named in the father's will, and the father's age also suggesting he could not be the father of Solomon.
