- David Burton Lockhart born around 1817 in Page County, Virginia, was the son of James L. and Elizabeth Lockhart. On October 29, 1840 in Alleghany County, David married Nancy Kimberlin, born about 1820 in Alleghany County, Virginia. Nancy was the daughter of James Kimberlin, born abut 1778 in Botetourt County, and Nancy Humphries. The Kimberlins were married February 24, 1789 in Botetourt County. They made their home on Potts Creek in Alleghany County. James Kimberlin was the son of Baulzor/Paulzer Kumberlin (born ca 1749-1751) and Sarah Wright, they being married January 6, 1778 in Botetourt County, Virginia.
David and Nancy had ten children, all born in Alleghany County, probably on the farm on Ogle Creek. Nancy Kimberlin died about 1864 and was buried in Alleghany County, believed to be in the area of Callaghan.
David's second marriage December 22, 1870 in Alleghany County, was to Elizabeth N. Huddleston, born in Alleghany County in the year of 1845. Elizabeth was the daughter of Abraham J. Huddleston (1800-1873) of Bedford County, Virginia and Joann Leah Bowyer (1812-1873) of Alleghany County, Virginia.
David died in 1896 and was buried on the Wyatt land in the cemetery near the old tavern. In 1963, during the construction of Interstate 64, David's remains were moved about four miles up State Route 661 to the cemetery at Hoke Chapel on Ogle Creek in Alleghany County, VA
