through the Cumberland Gap in Northern, Tenn. Traversed the Northeast part of Kentucky, then across the Ohio River to
Vincennes, Indiana then West through Illinois to Kansas in Randolph County in Illinois and here they crossed the
Mississippi River and went up the river to St. Louis, Missouri and settled there.

David served as a PVT. 27th Reg't Illinois Inf. during the Black Hawk War.

The DYAS-Brady Cemetery has recently added a military marker for his grave.
The Dyas-Brady cem. is now on private land and is adjacent to the Bellevue State Park.
To visit the cemetery a person should contact the Park Superintendent who will take you to the Cemetery.
The campground at the Park is called the DYAS Unit and was so named as the land was purchased from the Dyas family.
