Notes from DYAS FAMILY GROUP SHEETS in Correspondance from Claire DYAS, dated: November 8,2003: 'Obituary of D C Dyas' David Charles Dyas, Son of David and Mary Dyas was born at Bellevue, Jackson County, Iowa, July 12 1859 and pased away at home, northwest of Formoso, Oct 21 at the age of 70 years, 3 months adn 9 days, He, with the rest of the family came to Jewell county in the fall of 1872, and his father took a homestead in Vicksburg township, All his life except two years were spent in Jewell county. On March 8, 1885, he was united in marriage to; Mary Henry. To this union were born four children, all of whom reside in this community. Mrs Roy Field, Mrs Ralph Jacobson, David and Liston Dyas, also ten grandchildren, three brothers and one sister: Frank Dyas, Randall, Kans: Clyde Dyas, Jewell, Kansas; and Mrs John Kemmerer, Mankato, Kans; besides a host of nephew, nieces and friends. He was always fond of young folks and took much pleasure in having the children with him. He and his wife were converted in a meeting at Old white Rock many years ago. and to that pledge they have always been true, never failing to do their duty, giving freely to their means and time in support of the church adn its activities and the life he has lived was such that the impressoion made has borne fruits and will continue to do so for many years. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Moore, of Mankato, assisted by the New Christian minister of Formoso, Rev. Parks , and Rev. mead, of Formoso
