Facts and Events
David Bowden was baptised on 8th May 1881 at Cruwys Morchard in Devon, son of Emma Bowden, formerly May, and her husband William Bowden, a dairyman. He appears in the 1891 census living at Higher Clow Farm in Cruwys Morchard with his parents and siblings. At this time the family was living in a four roomed house.
By 1901 David had left home and was working as a labourer on a farm at Chipstable in Somerset. He has yet to be traced after 1901.

Although his mother's name is here recorded as Ellen it is considered this is a mistake. There is no sign of a William and Ellen Bowden couple in the 1881 census a few weeks earlier, David appears in the 1891 census living with William and Emma, and there is only one birth of a David Bowden in the births index in Devon around this time.
