Daniel Kent, (Jacob 5, Ebenezer 4, Ebenezer 3, John 2, Richard 1), half brother to the preceding and son of Jacob Kent senior by his third wife, Abigail (Barnes) Kent. He was born Dec. 31, 1778, in Brookfield, Mass. He 1st married Polly Bonne of Hardwick Gore, Mass., pub. Feb. 8, 1801. Don't know where or when she was b. or anything about her parents. They settled in Whitingham, Windham County, Vt., where they had one child which died at time of birth, as did also the mother, early in the yea 1802. He married 2d Jan. 13, 1803, in Whitingham, Nancy Young, who was born in Hopkinton, Mass., Aug. 6, 1786, and daughter of John and Abigail (Howe) Young. Mr. Kent learned the carpente's trade when young, but worked most of his life at farming which suited him better. He was a practical and successful farmer and owned a fine farm in Chester, Ohio, where he died July 23, 1853, aged 74y, 6m, 22d. His widow died in Salt Lake City, Utah, Sept. 19, 1860, aged 74y, 1m, 13d.
