Source:Shattuck, Lemuel. History of the Town of Concord, p. 369, speculates that "Lieut. Daniel Dean, [was] probably the son of Thomas". The anonymous article in NEHGR[2] says "Lieut. Daniel Deane, of Concrd, does not appear to have been related to the preceding family [i.e., Thomas]." According to the NEHGR article, Thomas Dean came to New England in 1635 at the age of 32, so we can see that he was old enough to be Daniel's father, but a will is mentioned, which presumably does not name Daniel, since the article draws a negative conclusion about their relationship.
