Classification: Query Surnames: Davis, Mann, Alderson, Van Voorst, Griffith, King, McDonald, Evans, Drake Daniel is said to have been born in Piscataway, NJ about 1690, m. Mary Mann/Manning 1716/7 (see Alderson Ancestry of the Jansen Daughters) and moved to Bucks Co., PA before 1721, Their children are listed as: 1. Rev. John Davis, b. 19 Sep 1721Pennepack, Bucks Co, m. Jane VanVoorst. On Daniel's death John received 40 acres adjacent to David Evans and Benjamin Griffith in New Britain Twp. John was pastor of Winter Run Church, Harford Co., MD 1756 until his death in 1809 2. Abel Davis, b. 1725-1730 also received 40 acres on his fathers death adjacent to Jenkin Evans and Jonathan Drake. Abel m. Sarah Griffith d/o Rev. Timothy & Sarah Griffith on 15 Feb 1752, Abel & Sarah Davis purchased 250 acres of land in Pencader Hundred, New Castle Co., DE from the Estate of her father. That land contained Iron Hill and the Welsh Tract Baptist Church erected in 1701 at the foot of Iron Hill. Their children are listed in Abel's will of 1790 as: Mary Ann Davis, m. Alex McDonald Hannah Davis, m. Benjamin King John Davis, m. Sarah _____. Rachel Davis, m. Mr Perry Benjamin Davis, b. ca.1764. 3. David Davis. David recieved 130 acres which was his father's home in New Britain Twp., Bucks Co. 4. Mary Davis 5. Hester Davis, b. 1 sep 1717.

I believe my g4 grandfather, Abel Davis [c1768-1847] who was b. in MD according to the 1880 Federal Census & d. in White Co., IN descends from this Davis family. Any help would be appreciated.
