• The 1841 census lists him in the workhouse at Chertsey, Surrey and provides a birth year of about 1761
• The following year there is a death recorded for Daniel who would now be over 80 years old
• Just over 7 kilometres away in Byfleet, Surrey there is a marriage record in 1796, at a time that he would have been about 35 years old.
• Shortly after in 1798 there is a christening record for James, the son of a Daniel Brookman in Byfleet, Surrey
