Alias:<ALIA> /Ike/ Item 1: Obituary from Fremont News-Messenger (04 August 1966) "Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the First English Lutheran church, Gibsonburg, for Clyde E. Mergenthaler who died this morning in his home. Mr. Mergenthaler, 70, had lived in Rollersville since 1911. He was a retired employee of Gibsonburg Lime. Born January 15, 1896 in Eaton Rapids, Mich., Mr. Mergenthaler married Marie Diels June 13 (sic), 1919. His wife survives him. Also surviving are three sons: Ross of Pemberville, John of Bradner and Charles of Rollersville. A daughter, Helen Boots of Fremont, also survives. A sister, Ada Ickes, Gibsonburg, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren survive him. Mr. Mergenthaler was a veteran of World War I,a member of the American Legion in Gibsonburg and a member of the First English Lutheran church, Gibsonburg. Friends may call at the Veh and Son funeralhome in Gibsonburg Friday evening at 7. Burial is tentatively set for West Union Cemetery."
