Obituary

Ex-Shelby Newsman Dies at 71

DETROIT, Mich (AP) – C. K. Lysinger, 71, former associate editor of the Detroit News, died today. He had been ill with emphysema, a lung ailment.

A veteran Detroit newspaperman, Lysinger retired from the News in 1957. He served as news editor 25 years prior to appointment as associate editor.

A native of Shelby, Ohio, Lysinger began his newspaper career on the Shelby Daily Citizen. He worked on papers in Albany, N.Y., Johnstown, Pa., Bismarck, N.D., and Toledo, Ohio.

Lysinger is survived by his wife, Luella; two sons, Gordon C. and Carroll E., and two brothers, Fred of Ohio City, Ind., and George of Shelby, Ohio.
