Jones, Churchill - entered service 1777 in Virginia regiment; applied for Bounty Land Warrant 1806, resided in Chatham (Stafford County, Virginia); Bounty Land Warrant 304 issued 1/3/1807; query letter in file states soldier lived 1748-1828, resided in Chatham, Stafford County, Virginia, married 3 times & left no children, further only brother William Jones (1750-1845) of "Ellwood", Spotsylvania County, Virginia, married at age 78 Lucy Gordon abt. age 16 who had daughter Betsy Churchill who married Major J. Horace Lacy of Chatham; query letter in flie 1931 from descendant Mary F. Hassell, Raleigh, NC. F-BLW304, R1437.
