You may want to check the Sowder/Souder web page at: http://www.geocities.com/danielson/sowder.htm Go to wills, Indiana, Washington Co., Frederick Souder. My ancestor, John Wright - husband of Frederick Souder's daughter, Sarah - signed as an heir. You may then go to the family group sheets and click on Frederick Sowder for more info. Mary "Polly" Kesner Souder was living in the household of John and Sarah Souder Wright in the 1850 Wash. Co., IN census. Our family records spell the name Souders, and include, but do not go beyound Sarah and John Wright.

It is fairly likely that the father of Frederick Souder was Frederick Souder/Sowder/Sowders b. 1732 in Germany and came to this country in 1753. He settled in Shenandoah Co., VA and died about 1786. He had the following children: Martin Sowder, Jonas Souder, John Souder, Lizy Souder, Christina Souder, (son) Souder - believed to have emigrated to KY, (son)Souder - believed to have emigrated to IN (this would be our Frederick Souder, if he is the son of this Frederick). Several of his children moved to Franklin Co., Ohio. I have not yet found conclusive proof for this relationship yet, and would appreciate any input.
