    Charles Dodson IV was born 11 July 1723, Richmond County, Virginia. Charles was the son of Charles Dodson III and Charles' first wife Ruth (maiden name unknown).

    Charles received by deed dated 1 September 1769, a tract of land containing 125 acres in Richmond County, Virginia, that was the home place of Charles Dodson III. The deed is recorded in Richmond County, Virginia Deed Book 13, page 148.

    Charles gave 50 acres to his son John in 1790, and in 1793 he gave 93 acres to his son Charles V.

    Charles made is will on the 27th of April 1801.

    Charles died sometime between 1801 and 1802.[1]
