CHARLES VINCENT CHICK The death took place at the Kilmore Hospital on August 11 of a well-known resident of Kilmore and Seymour in the person of Charles Vincent Chick, at the age of 58 years. Although he had been in indifferent health for some years, his passing came as a shock to his family and relatives. The deceased was a son of the late Samuel and Sophie Chick, well known Murchison residents, where the deceased was born and educated. As a young man he joined the Victorian Railways as a repairer at Numurkah where he resided for several years, later moving to Seymour where he remained for a number of years until ill-health comlelled his retirement and he came to Kilmore, where he resided for the past eight years. The respect in which the deceased was held was reflected by the large number who at- tended the funeral. The late Mr. Chick married Miss Ann Doidge, of Tatura, and in addition to his widow is survived by two sons (Andy and George) and four daughters, Rose (Mrs. N. Lingard), Gwen (Mrs. Mottershead), Joyce and Valda, together with 12 grandchildren, a brother, George (Melbourne) and sister, Rose (Mrs. McLeod) also survive the deceased. The interment was made in the Kilmore General Cemetery and numerous floral tributes were received, including one from Spicers and Dethnold, Kilmore. At the graveside the service was conducted by Rev. C. H. Partridge and the mortuary arrangements were carried out by Diggle and Maher. The casket-bearers were Messrs. Anderson, Berney, Patterson and Britt; pall-bearers, Messrs. Doidge, A. Hourigan, Doidge, H. Chick, Doidge and Connelly, and the flower-bearers were Mesdames Connelly, Lucas, H. Chick, Mottershead and Miss Betty Connelly.
