Charles H. Beal, aged 64, of Victory Hill, Pa., died Saturday morning, September 6th at 2:34 o'clock in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, where he had been admitted two weeks previously for treatment of a spinal condition. He had been bedfast for 17 days and his condition showed progressive improvement until Friday night just before midnight, when he suffered a relapse and succumbed to embolism a few hours later. Mr. Beal was born in Meyersdale on August 18, 1883, and had lived in both Monongahela and Donora before moving to Victory Hill. He had been employed as a carpenter at the zinc mill of the American Steel and Wire Company at Donora, for nearly 25 years. Meyersdale Republican, September 18, 1947 References
